About Me

I am Finney, and I’m working hard to adventure as much as possible while keeping my desk job. Someone recently called me ‘the Most Adventurous Person they know’. Thinking of those I follow online this seems impossible, but I realize that compared to the normal 9-5er I do tend to adventure more than most. I love sharing my adventures and inspiring my friends to go explore.

I hope through this blog to reach further and inspire more!

Taking a break from a wet but wonderful hike in Quilotoa Caldera, Ecuador

Born and raised a Virginia girl, I moved to Oakland, CA by way of Boulder, CO. My senior year of college I started interviewing all around the country, I realized I could schedule interviews at my convenience to explore a new place on someone else’s dime without blowing my very limited budget. Once I started working the opportunities for travel grew, as now I had an actual income, but now I have the new restriction of limited vacation time. I work hard for my money, and even harder for maximizing my free time to explore as much as possible.

I try to adventure where most tourists do not; I don’t like big crowds and I believe part of experiencing a place is seeing the real culture, not the one manufactured for tourist dollars. Also, since I live in a tourist destination I hope to share with you local amazing things to do, from how to enjoy Sunny California on a rainy day to my favorite local bike ride (SF to Tiburon via the Golden Gate Bridge, spoilers!)

A big part of any adventure for me is food and most importantly coffee. I am a coffee connoisseur, always looking for a lovely cup to help me to savor the moment

I hope to entertain you with my experience, and inspire you to get out and travel with my tips and follies. We can’t all quit our jobs and travel for a living, but that doesn’t have to stop you from seeing the world!
